Poi! Sooooo good!

Okay, so this was the first time I ever had poi that came like frozen. Totally understandable because it's being shipped versus me just being able to go a local grocery store to buy poi, like you can in Hawaii. Well I don't live in Hawaii anymore so if I want to have me some poi, it has to be shipped and of course it has to be frozen. So I went online to see what was the best way to get it to room temperature and have it turn into its wonderful moist smooth consistency that I'm used to when I used to buy fresh poi in Hawaii. I found some great helpful hints online, one from a local store in Hawaii, and went ahead and tried it out, and wow! The poi turned into something amazing, just like when I bought fresh poi in Hawaii! Cause I don't the "sour" poi like some people like. I love that fresh tasting poi, and that's what I got, which makes me so happy! I would buy again!

In this post, we explore the differences between saimin and ramen, why saimin holds a special place in Hawaiian culture, and where to find both dishes online.
