From a small family run cafe to a Hawaiian gift and grocery retail store
At Leilani's Attic, we’re all about bringing a little piece of home to our Hawaiian friends and family living away from the islands. What started as a simple family business has grown into a place where you can find everything you miss from Hawaii—groceries, apparel, leis, and gifts that remind you of home.
It all started back in 2000 when Leilani opened Leilani’s Cafe, serving up the kind of plate lunches we grew up with. The food was a hit, but in 2013, Leilani and her son Tyson decided to take things in a new direction and open a retail store next door. That’s when Leilani's Attic was born—a place where people could get more of what they love about Hawaii, beyond just food.
At Leilani’s Attic, we wanted to bring all those things that make Hawaii feel like home, right here on the mainland. You’ll find everything from groceries to surf wear, luau attire, and footwear—the stuff you’d pick up if you were back home. We also carry jewelry, lotions, and gifts that bring a little piece of the islands to you, wherever you are.
One of the things we’re most proud of is our fresh flower leis. We’ve kept this tradition alive and made it easy for folks to order leis through our LeilanisLeis.com website. Whether you need leis for a celebration or just want a piece of Hawaii to brighten your day, we’ve got you covered with leis you can pick up at our Las Vegas and San Diego locations.
And it doesn’t stop there. We’ve also opened a new head office and warehouse, which has become a space for lei-making workshops and a gathering spot for the local Hawaiian civic club. It’s important to us to stay connected to our roots, share our traditions, and build community.
As a Native Hawaiian family-owned business, we’ve always stayed true to the values that matter most: family, culture, and community. It’s these values that guide everything we do, from the products we offer to how we interact with our customers and our community.
While we’ve moved on from the cafe days, Leilani’s Attic has grown into something special. With locations in Las Vegas (the ninth island) and our newly moved San Diego store in Clairemont Mesa, we continue to share a little bit of Hawaii with folks all over. We’re excited about the future, and as we keep growing, we’ll always remember what matters most—keeping that aloha spirit alive and sharing it with you.
